A study conducted by Americans for the Arts reported that Connecticut nonprofit arts and culture organizations and their audiences generated nearly $1 billion in economic activity in 2022, including $55 million in state tax revenue, and supported more than 12,000 jobs (https://ctartsalliance.org/get-started/aep6/). Despite this, Connecticut has historically under invested state funds in the arts and lags the rest of the nation in recognizing that arts generate tax revenue and support a thriving economy.
